Riding the Hogwarts Express at Universal Studios

The Hogwarts Express at Universal Orlando Resort is a magical train ride that connects the two themed areas of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade in Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida. Modeled after the iconic train from the Harry Potter films, the Hogwarts Express offers a truly immersive experience that brings the magic of J.K. Rowling’s world to life.

Guests board the train at either King’s Cross Station in London or Hogsmeade Station, depending on the direction of travel. At King’s Cross, visitors even walk through the famous Platform 9¾, with a clever illusion that makes it look like you're disappearing through a brick wall.

The ride itself is more than simple transportation. The windows of the train are actually high-definition screens that simulate a journey through the British countryside, complete with appearances from characters like Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Depending on the direction you travel, the experience changes—so riding both ways offers two unique stories.

Inside the train, the cabins look exactly like those in the films, complete with luggage racks and subtle magical effects, such as shadows of characters walking by the compartment doors.

To ride the Hogwarts Express, guests must have a Park-to-Park admission ticket, since it travels between two separate theme parks. It's a must-do attraction for fans of the series, adding a touch of wonder and storytelling to the Universal Orlando experience.
