Longboards, shortboards, surfboards - lots of boards really. The California Surf Museum is worth checking out if you find yourself in beautiful Oceanside, California. Founded in 1986, this small museum highlights the history of surfing with a variety of memorabilia on display. One highlight includes Bethany Hamilton's shark bitten surfboard. She was the young surfer who lost her arm to a shark attack in 2003, which became the subject of the film Soul Surfer.
With three levels to explore and 360 degree views, the Top of the Rock Observation Deck at 30 Rockefeller Plaza offers some of the most iconic vantage points in New York City. While not the tallest observation deck in town, there are few better spots to look over midtown Manhattan, watch the construction on Billionaire's Row, or capture the Empire State Building.
