Completed in 1974, the Keeper of the Plains is a steel sculpture at the confluence of the Arkansas and Little Arkansas Rivers in Wichita, Kansas. Linked by pedestrian footbridges on either side, the sculpture was made by Kiowa-Comanche artist Blackbear Bosin for the U.S. Bicentennial. The Keeper of the Plains has since become one of Wichita's most recognized symbols.
